Dear Friends and Family
This last year has been the most life-changing for us as our daughter has developed into a one year old. The role we have to nurture and teach Evee has become one of the most important dedications of our lives. We love this hard and rewarding journey and will continue to experience the occasional sleepless nights and the plethora of dirty diapers that so many of you can relate to.
We are so pleased to write to you about an upcoming trip we are planning for this summer. We will be going to Tokyo, Japan at the end of May with our church to be an encouragement to the local church there and develop a vision for long term ministry.
Although Japan has a rich cultural heritage & history, the spiritual climate of Japan is dark. Most of the cultural identity is opposed to the gospel we know and love. As we feel called to long term international ministry, we have a desire to take this trip as a family is to see if the Lord would call us to be long-term ministers of the Gospel in Japan.
In the last few years it has become the most unreached nation in the world with a mere 0.03% of the population claiming Christianity. It is a culture that is overworked with avenues for every kind of escape from life whether it be virtual, sexual or anything in between. The government now pays couples to bear children along with a monthly stipend because there are so few being born. Suicide is all too common in the cities. With laws in place that fine your family $100,000 for ending your life. The government sees symptoms in their culture that they are attempting to address with the promise of money or threat of taking it away. While this may treat a symptom it does nothing to affect the root causes of these issues. It is our conviction that the good news of Jesus Christ, that he lived the life we could not, died the death we deserve and was raised again by the power of God to make a way for us to be reconciled to God is the one lasting solution to the myriad problems facing Japan.
In order for us to take this trip, we are in the process of raising $5,000 as a family. We would like to invite you to be a part of our ministry in Japan in two ways. First by committing to pray for us and with us for Japan, you can learn about Tokyo and what to pray for by visiting KarisJapan.org. Second, would you prayerfully consider giving financially towards our goal of $5,000? Follow the link to give a donation online: https://karischurch.cloverdonations.com/karisjapan/
Or you can send a check by mail made out to Karis Church, in the memo please write “Japan Trip – Jeremy & Leanna Grove” and mail them to:
