Got the following information from a local pastor who serves at The Crossing. If you are free Sunday at 11 AM, this may be a cool class to check out.

(If you know about a faith or community-building opportunity you want to make VU-ers aware of, feel free to send it in and I’ll get it posted for you!)

I hope you’re well. I wanted to let you know that Nathan Tiemeyer and I are starting a new class this Sunday (10/5) morning at 11 am in room 225 at The Crossing. We’ll be watching and then leading a discussion of Matt Chandler’s new video series called Recovering Redemption-How Christ Changes Everything. I think it’s really good. Matt Chandler does a great job of helping people understand how to become a Christian as well as how to grow in the Christian life. I think this would be a great class for non Christians and Christians alike. I’m emailing you in case you want to promote it at Veteran’s United or just invite people individually. Feel no pressure. I just wanted to make you aware of the class as I know lots of people are big Matt Chandler fans. Here is a blurb about the class. No need to register. Just show up Sunday.

Connections Class

Real Transformation: How the Gospel Changes Your Life

Teachers: Shay Roush, Nathan Tiemeyer

Begins Oct. 5, 11 a.m., Rm. 225, runs for 8 weeks

The Bible is clear that God intends for his people to experience life abundantly, so why are things such a mess––even for Christians? This video study by Matt Chandler addresses the root of brokenness and the destructive patterns of behavior we find ourselves stuck in. Our attempts at changing ourselves, or making ourselves better, are fruitless unless we identify the problem deep in our hearts. No matter where you’re at in your spiritual journey, this study will help you reorient your life around the gospel, by understanding God’s grace and plan of redemption through Christ.
