In 1620, 102 pilgrims set out on the arduous 65-day-long nightmare that was crossing the oft-cruel Atlantic. The Mayflower, with space comparable to that of a city bus, delivered the weary travelers to Massachusetts just in time for a brutal New England winter. Only half their party lived to see spring, many of whom were grieving the loss of dear loved ones.

Yet when fall rolled around and the harvest of a toilsome year came in, they celebrated – a testament to resilience and hope.

For some of us, this has been an amazingly blessed year. For others, it is hard to think of a more trying one. But for all of us, there are reasons to come together and celebrate—whether that reason is to count our blessings or to catch our breath, relieved at making it through.

And that is what we will look to do on November 20th (from 11:45 AM to 1 PM), at our second ever VU Thanksgiving Feast Forum. This lunch will put us in a family atmosphere with one another, sharing what we are thankful for together. Whether you plan on sharing that day (there will be an open-mic time) or you just want to come take in some seasonal positivity, this should be a special time for all.

Hope you can make it out. Here’s a video that was taken at last year’s Thanksgiving Feast Forum:
