The National Day of Prayer is an annual observance held on the first Thursday of May, inviting people of all faiths to pray for the nation. According to the National Day of Prayer Task Force, it was created in 1952 by a joint resolution of the United States Congress, and signed into law by President Harry S. Truman.
Local NDP services will be held on May 7 at noon at the Boone County Courthouse Plaza. This year’s national theme is Lord, hear our prayer and everyone desiring to pray for our country is invited to attend. For more information, contact Robin May.
