Long hair don’t care. . . but “they” might. We live with these expectancy biases, but what the book of Jonah does is turn many of these expected behaviors on their head. The brave sailors vulnerably cower in fear. The prophet takes a nap in the belly of a boat instead of going to do the work God asked of him. Where do we fit in this story?
